Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has named members of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso governing council.
The appointments was announced in a statement signed and made available to the press on Friday by Gov. Makinde.
Professor Ayodeji Omole, a former chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Ibadan branch, has been elected Pro-Chancellor of the University, according to the governor.
Professor Lanre Olaniyan, Mrs. Titilayomi Ahmadu, Hon. Adekunle Bankole, and Mr. Adeosun Olukunle Idowu have also been named.
Makinde claimed that the five people were named in compliance with his pledge to create the Council to represent the University’s new ownership status.
According to our sources, Omole chaired the Oyo State Negotiation Committee on the Sole Ownership of LAUTECH, which negotiated with its Osun State counterpart to reach an amicable agreement.
Olaniyan is a Professor of Economics at the University of Ibadan’s Department of Economics.
Ahmad is a native of Oyo town and a University of Ile-Ife graduate (now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife).
She began her career as a Chartered Accountant in 1992 with C.S. Ola & Co (Chartered Accountants) on Ring Road in Ibadan.
Idowu recently retired as a Permanent Secretary from the Oyo State Civil Service. Bankole was a member of the Oriire Local Government’s Caretaker Committee in Ikoyi-Ile.
